Slope rectification works.
Slope rectification specialist contractor for JKR directives, federal expressway works, hillside-development distress, and post-failure remediation. CIDB G7, ISO 9001:2015. JKR Slope Engineering Branch panel-eligible. Federal references: EKVE (39.5 km), ECRL (320,000 m drilled), Central Spine Road (65,000 m²). All 13 Malaysian states covered.
What "slope rectification" means in Malaysian tender language.
Slope rectification is the term used in JKR (Public Works Department), MOW (Ministry of Works), and most Malaysian government tender documents to describe engineered remedial works on a distressed or non-compliant slope. It encompasses the same scope a private developer might call "slope repair" or "slope reinforcement", but used in a regulatory context.
If you've received a slope rectification directive from JKR Slope Engineering Branch, a local authority (DBKL, MBPP, MBPJ, MBSA, etc.), or a federal agency after annual inspection, that directive will specify: (1) the slope ID and location, (2) the JKR slope class (I-IV), (3) the remedial requirements (e.g., "install soil nailing to FoS ≥ 1.4" or "reinstate horizontal drains and shotcrete facing"), (4) the submission timeline, and (5) the documentation expected (Method Statement, design calculations stamped by registered P.Eng., as-built drawings, test certificates).
We are CIDB G7 panel-registered and have delivered slope rectification packages for federal expressways under live traffic, federal rail corridors, and state-road authorities. The documentation standard is the same regardless of project size - same QA/QC, same submission format.
Standard solution package for JKR-spec rectification.
Investigation phase
Topographic survey, borehole programme (rotary core to 30 m typical), in-situ tests (SPT, vane shear), lab classification (Atterberg, sieve, triaxial), groundwater observation wells. SI report deliverable in JKR / Eurocode format.
Design phase
Slope-stability analysis (limit equilibrium / FE per JKR option), reinforcement sizing (soil nail length, spacing, capacity to JKR / FHWA), drainage layout, durability spec. Drawings + calcs stamped by registered P.Eng.
Construction phase
Drainage installation first (horizontal drains, surface channels), then structural reinforcement (soil nailing / rock bolting / ground anchors), then surface protection (guniting / rock netting / re-vegetation). Live-traffic safe-work practices when applicable.
Handover phase
As-built drawings, pull-out test certificates (load-tested per JKR), grout test certs, drainage flow logs, photographic record, maintenance schedule. Defect liability per CIDB / consultant spec, typically 12-24 months.
Federal-grade rectification, delivered.
EKVE - Federal expressway rectification
39.5 km of alignment, 450,000 m² of slope face protected and rectified. Soil nailing, guniting, rock bolting, rock netting, jersey barriers under live traffic. JKR / LLM documentation standard throughout.
ECRL alignment
64 km chainage across Pahang, Terengganu, Kelantan. 320,000 m drilled length for soil nails and horizontal drains. Federal rail corridor. Some sections rectification of cuts during construction.
Central Spine Road - MOW project
65,000 m² slope face rectified with six integrated solution types. Ministry of Works / KKR project. Hill-station Class III/IV slopes.
State-road monsoon rectification
Recurring annual programmes for state roads in Pahang, Terengganu, Sabah east coast. Post-monsoon rectification within weeks of distress identification.
Documentation discipline, federal-panel-grade.
CIDB G7 + JKR panel
Highest CIDB grade specialist contractor. Eligible for JKR all states (Pahang, Selangor, Penang, Johor, Sabah, Sarawak, Kelantan, Terengganu - 13 states + 3 federal territories), DBKL, MBPP, MBPJ, MBSA, federal panels. Documentation standard meets every authority's submission requirements.
Live-traffic / live-site execution
EKVE was delivered under live traffic. ECRL during active rail-corridor works. We've delivered safe-work-method-statements and traffic-management plans approved by LLM, JKR, and main contractors.
Six in-house systems
Soil nailing, guniting, rock bolting, rockfall barriers, retaining walls, horizontal drains - all crews are ours. Most slope rectification packages need 3+ systems integrated. We don't subcontract this.
Same engineering team across states
Project-specific mobilization to East Malaysia. Same engineers who designed your peninsula project will design your Sabah / Sarawak rectification. No tier-down on quality just because it's far.
Combined approach, matched to failure mode.
For rotational / circular slip
Soil nailing through the slip surface (anchorage in stable ground below), shotcrete + mesh facing, horizontal drains for pore pressure relief. Re-grading where space permits to flatten upper slope.
For translational slip on weak seam
Ground anchors through the seam into competent rock, RC capping beam to distribute load. Drainage on the seam (sub-horizontal drains intercepting groundwater).
For wedge / toppling rock failure
Rock bolting on the kinematic blocks, mesh + shotcrete to prevent loose-block fall, rockfall barrier on benches above active zone. Per-block scaling first to remove imminent risks.
For erosion / piping
Erosion-control mat (geocell, TRM, hydroseeding), sub-surface drainage to relocate flow paths, riprap at concentrated flow zones. Long-term vegetative cover for sustained protection.
For undermined retaining wall
Underpinning + capping beam transfer to deeper foundation, soil nailing or anchoring through retained soil to prevent further movement. Drainage immediately behind to manage future pore pressure.
Hybrid approaches
Most real failures involve multiple modes - rotational + erosion, or translational + perched water. We integrate techniques into a single package designed and delivered in-house.
