Continuous-thread high-tensile steel.
GEWI is a continuous coarse-pitch thread on a hot-rolled steel bar - patented by DSI (Dywidag Systems International) and produced by DSI, Williams Form Engineering, Macalloy, and licensed manufacturers. The continuous thread allows in-situ coupling and mechanical end fittings without thread cutting. Used worldwide for soil nails, tiebacks, micropiles, ground anchors (where threadbar is preferred over strand).
