Micropiling contractor in Malaysia.

Infraconcrete provides design-build micropiling works across all Malaysian states. "Micropile" (the pile) and "micropiling" (the works) are interchangeable terms for the same technique: 150-300 mm grouted small-diameter deep foundation element used for underpinning, hillside new foundations, basement work, slope stabilization, and retrofit. Our micropiling capability is built on established soil-nailing drilling and grouting expertise (same equipment, same crew, same QA). CIDB G7, ISO 9001:2015. Same-day engineering response from Petaling Jaya HQ. Lead-generation-first positioning: send borehole log + sketch for same-day indicative quote.

01 / Terminology

Micropile vs micropiling vs mini pile.

TermMeaningRegion of origin
MicropileThe element itself (noun). One small-diameter grouted deep foundation pile.US / FHWA
MicropilesPlural of the element.Universal
MicropilingThe activity of installing them (gerund) or adjective ("micropiling contractor", "micropiling works").UK / BS, common in Malaysia
Mini pile / mini pilingVernacular synonym used in Malaysian tender documents.Malaysian industry
Root pile (pali radice)Historical Italian term, Dr. Fernando Lizzi 1950s, now rare except in slope-stabilization context ("pali radice method").Italy
Cerucuk mikroBahasa Malaysia translation.Malaysia
微型桩Mandarin translation (wéixíng zhuāng).Chinese-speaking regions

All refer to the same technique. We respond to RFQs that use any of these terms.

02 / Our micropiling service scope

Five work categories.

1. New foundation micropiling

Hillside and remote-site new building foundations where variable depth to bedrock makes bored pile uneconomic. Design + install 150-300 mm micropile to competent stratum with rock socket where required.

2. Foundation underpinning

Existing buildings with differential settlement, scour, or added load. Micropile transferred load to deeper stratum via bracket-and-corbel detail; building stays operational during works. See dedicated underpinning page.

3. Basement and low-headroom work

Basement extension, crawl-space conversion, lift pit excavation. Our smallest rig operates in 3 m clearance. See basement underpinning page.

4. Slope stabilization

Micropile wall (pali radice in-situ reinforcement) through sliding mass into stable ground beyond failure surface. Typically combined with soil nailing above and horizontal drains for de-watering. See micropile slope stabilization page.

5. Retrofit micropiling

Bridge pier scour countermeasure, seismic retrofit of existing shallow foundations, transmission tower uplift resistance, historic / sensitive-structure load transfer.

03 / Capability base

Why we can execute micropiling now.

Micropiling is a drilling + grouting operation. The drilling methods (rotary, down-the-hole hammer), grouting equipment (silo + mixer + pump), reinforcement handling, grout mix design, and QA discipline are the same whether the drilled element is a soil nail or a load-bearing micropile. Our existing soil-nailing capability gives us the equipment, trained crew, and quality framework; micropiling adds the structural reinforcement engineering and load-test discipline on top. This is why we can confidently expand into micropiling as a service line without starting from zero.

What we add on top: FHWA-NHI-05-039 structural capacity design, load-test coordination with independent testing agencies (ASTM D1143 / D3689 / D3966), bracket-and-corbel detailing for underpinning, inclinometer monitoring for slope-stabilization applications, and vibration monitoring per BS 7385 for sensitive-building work.
