Sister company Starwall Sdn Bhd holds the STRATA Geosystems appointment for Malaysia; Infraconcrete Construction Sdn Bhd is the CIDB G7 installer. Coverage across Kelantan (Kota Bharu, Kuala Krai, Gua Musang, Pasir Mas, Tanah Merah, Machang, Tumpat, Bachok, Pasir Puteh), Terengganu (Kuala Terengganu, Dungun, Kemaman, Kerteh, Marang, Setiu, Hulu Terengganu, Besut, Paka), and East Pahang. Full STRATA Geosystems product range; specialism in monsoon-resilient design for north-east monsoon conditions.
ECRL corridor, Petronas Kerteh O&G, monsoon-resilient design.
The East Coast spans three states with distinctive soil and project profiles. Kelantan is largely alluvial floodplain with seasonal flooding; Terengganu coastal areas (Kerteh, Dungun, Paka) host Petronas oil-and-gas operations requiring salt-spray durability spec; Hulu Terengganu, Gua Musang, and interior Kelantan rise into the Main Range with weathered granite slopes. The north-east monsoon (November-March) is the dominant climatic driver for design, with peak rainfall events that can exceed 300 mm/day.
STRATA products on East Coast projects:
- ECRL Section 3 embankments through Kelantan, Terengganu, and east Pahang corridor with StrataTex HSR basal mats on alluvium and StrataGrid Biaxial under road sub-base.
- Petronas Kerteh O&G corridor with geomembrane secondary containment (HDPE for hydrocarbon resistance) and StrataGrid for embankment / platform reinforcement.
- Monsoon-resilient slope works in interior Kelantan / Hulu Terengganu using StrataWeb vegetated facing on cut slopes.
- Coastal protection at Kemaman, Setiu, Besut with StrataTex HSR + woven geotextile under rock revetment.
From the authoritative project list.
- East Coast Rail Link (ECRL): 64 km / 320,000 m drilled drains alongside extensive geosynthetic-reinforced embankment works through Kelantan / Terengganu / east Pahang. One of Southeast Asia's largest single-corridor geosynthetic deployments.
Specific STRATA product selections are confirmed at design stage with the consulting engineer; supply through Starwall with manufacturer certificates.
