01 / What we stock and supply

Four geotextile families, full grade ladder.

Woven polyester (PET) high-strength

StrataTex HSR range, tensile strengths 50 kN/m to 1000 kN/m. Used for basal reinforcement on soft ground (peat, soft marine clay), embankment over weak subgrade, reinforced soil slope facing, and the geotextile-wrap-faced wall system. Long-term design strength data per BS EN ISO 13431 and creep certificates included with reinforcement-grade orders.

Nonwoven polypropylene (PP) needle-punched

Mass per unit area 100 to 800 gsm. The workhorse separation + filtration + drainage geotextile. Wrap around perforated subsoil drains, underlay rip-rap and gabion mattress, separate granular subbase from cohesive subgrade, line drainage trenches behind retaining walls. Stock at PJ warehouse in 150, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 gsm grades for fast turnaround.

Woven polypropylene slit-film

Mass 100 to 300 gsm, low elongation, high tensile per cost. Used for separation under low-volume roads, working platforms for crane and tracked-rig operations on soft ground, and stabilisation of weak subgrade where the load is moderate. Less drainage capacity than nonwoven (use nonwoven if filtration is required).

Composite geotextile

Woven structural core bonded to nonwoven filtration facing. Used where reinforcement and filtration are both required in a single layer (basal reinforcement under embankment with pore-pressure dissipation, geotextile-encased stone columns, capping layer over PVD-treated soft ground). Custom mass and tensile combinations per project.

03 / What ships with every order

Material certificates, spec compliance, sample.

Every shipment is accompanied by a documentation pack so the consultant can sign off material without delay:

  • Mill certificate of conformance from the STRATA manufacturing plant for the specific batch.
  • Batch test report covering tensile strength (BS EN ISO 10319 or ASTM D4595), apparent opening size or AOS (ASTM D4751), CBR puncture resistance (ASTM D6241), trapezoidal tear (ASTM D4533), mass per unit area (ASTM D5261), thickness (ASTM D5199), and permittivity for nonwoven (ASTM D4491).
  • Long-term design strength data per BS EN ISO 13431 for reinforcement-grade StrataTex HSR woven PET (creep, durability, installation damage factors).
  • Spec compliance statement mapping the supplied product against JKR-SPJ Section 7 (highway earthworks), JPS Drainage Manual (river training and drainage), BS 8006-1 (reinforced soils), Eurocode 7, or the project-specific consultant specification.
  • Sample roll for consultant inspection before bulk delivery, available on request at the order stage.
  • Delivery note + roll tags traceable to mill batch for site QA records.
04 / Three buying routes

Supply only, supply and install, or design and build.

Supply only

For main contractors, developers, and consultants who have their own installation crew. We deliver to your site, hand over the documentation pack, and the installation responsibility sits with you. Best for repeat buyers who handle their own QA. Pricing is the lowest of the three routes.

Supply and install

We deploy CIDB G7 installation crews to your site, place the geotextile per consultant spec, run on-site QA per BS 8006 / JKR-SPJ, and hand over an as-built record with photo log and pull-out test results (where required). Pricing covers material, crew, supervision, plant, and QA. Most common route for slope works, basal reinforcement under embankment, and any project where the contractor wants single-point responsibility on the geosynthetics scope.

Design and build

Infraconcrete carries the geotechnical engineering responsibility from the project geotechnical report through to construction. Includes design analysis (factor of safety per BS 8006-1, settlement and bearing per BS EN 1997, pull-out and CBR puncture testing on production samples), material specification, supply, installation, and construction supervision. Best for projects where the geotextile application is critical to design intent (high embankment over soft soil, reinforced soil walls, geotextile-encased stone columns).

07 / Common applications we supply for

Where buyers in Malaysia actually use it.

Embankment over soft ground

Woven PET (StrataTex HSR) basal reinforcement layer at embankment base over peat or soft marine clay. Pairs with prefabricated vertical drain (PVD) for accelerated consolidation. See basal reinforcement and PVD.

Slope works

Nonwoven PP under rip-rap on slope toe, woven PET reinforcement for reinforced soil slopes. See geotextile for slope protection and reinforced soil slope.

Road and pavement

Woven slit-film or nonwoven for separation between subbase and subgrade, plus capping layer protection on weak subgrade. See geotextile hub.

Drainage trench and subsoil drain

Nonwoven PP wrap around perforated pipe drain, filter sock for chimney drains and french drains. See geotextile for drainage.

Behind retaining walls

Nonwoven PP between drainage gravel and retained soil, prevents fines migration into the drain. Pairs with geocomposite wall drain.

Erosion control and rip-rap underlay

Nonwoven PP underlay between rock armour and underlying soil, prevents wave action from washing fines out from under the armour. Common on Malaysian coastal and river training works.

08 / Why through Starwall and STRATA

Single-source manufacturer route vs spot-market sourcing.

Most geotextile buyers in Malaysia source through spot-market traders who pick up rolls from whichever manufacturer has cheapest stock that month. Three risks. Traceability: mixed-mill stock means no batch traceability and no manufacturer warranty if a roll fails CBR puncture or AOS in the consultant audit. Spec drift: nominally identical SKUs from different mills can differ on creep, UV stability, and durability reduction factors, breaking the consultant's design assumptions. Replacement liability: if rolls are short-supplied or arrive damaged, the trader has no commercial commitment to make good.

Starwall is the sole appointed STRATA Geosystems (Asia) distributor in Malaysia. Single mill source. Direct manufacturer certificate per shipment. Manufacturer warranty against material defects. Replacement supply commitment. Same engineering desk through the entire project, from quote to as-built record. Worth the small premium over spot-market sourcing on any project where the consultant or authority audits the geotextile credentials.

09 / FAQ

Buyers, consultants, and contractors usually ask:

Do you also handle install or just supply? +
Both. Supply-only contracts for buyers with their own crew, supply-and-install with CIDB G7 crew, or full design-and-build where Infraconcrete carries the geotechnical engineering responsibility. Pricing differs per route. See section 04 above.
What if my consultant has specified a different brand? +
Equivalence is the standard route. We supply an equivalence statement mapping the consultant-specified properties (tensile, AOS, CBR, mass) against the STRATA range and submit for consultant approval. Equivalence approval is routine when the technical properties match; the consultant retains design authority over which equivalence to accept. For projects where the consultant insists on a named brand, we can broker direct supply through a manufacturer agent though delivery and certificate handling sits with that supply chain.
Can I get a sample roll for inspection before placing the bulk order? +
Yes. Sample rolls of common SKUs (nonwoven 200 gsm, 400 gsm, woven slit-film 150 gsm, StrataTex HSR 100 kN/m) are available at the engineering desk for collection or short-courier delivery. Larger or custom-spec samples are mill-supplied on request, 1 to 3 weeks lead time.
Do you supply for JKR, JPS, or LLM tender works? +
Yes. STRATA range is supplied with compliance statements against JKR-SPJ Section 7 (highway earthworks), JPS Drainage Manual (river training and drainage), and LLM technical specifications. Standard requirement on federal works is the certificate of conformance per shipment plus the long-term design strength data for reinforcement-grade SKUs; both are included by default with Starwall supply.
What's the minimum order quantity? +
No minimum on Klang Valley stock SKUs (single rolls collected from PJ stockyard). Direct mill orders typically require a full container minimum (around 5,000 to 8,000 m squared depending on grade) for the freight economics to work. Quotes confirm the minimum against the specific SKU and delivery point.
How do I get a quote? +
WhatsApp +60 16-428 1214 or email ifrconcrete@gmail.com with: project location, total area in m squared, consultant-specified grade (or a description of the application if no spec yet), and required delivery date. Same-day quote with stock availability, lead time, certificate package, and price.
