Geotextile (StrataTex + Nonwoven) in Sabah and Sarawak.
Project-specific Borneo mobilisation; stock at Kuching and KK via Starwall's distribution chain. StrataTex HSR woven PET 200-1000 kN/m grades are the working solution for Pan Borneo Highway peat embankment basal reinforcement (Sarawak interior peat 5-15 m thick); nonwoven PP for mining tailings storage facility cushion above HDPE geomembrane. Manufactured by STRATA Geosystems. See geotextile design guide for Rowe-Soderman analysis on very soft peat.
Pan Borneo Highway, mining, plantation roads.
- Pan Borneo Highway peat embankments: StrataTex HSR 400-800 kN/m basal mats combined with PVDs for consolidation. Rowe-Soderman analysis governs design tensile.
- Mining tailings storage facilities (TSF): nonwoven PP 600-800 gsm cushion above HDPE geomembrane basal liner per GRI-GT12.
- Plantation access roads over peat / soft alluvium: nonwoven separator + biaxial geogrid combined system; StrataTex HSR added on very weak subgrades.
- Bintulu SCORE industrial belt: platform basal mats over alluvial soft ground.
- Coastal erosion protection: nonwoven PP underlay under rock revetment.
High-strength HSR woven PET basal mat.
Sarawak peat deposits (5-15 m thick, su 3-10 kPa typical) and Sabah lowland peat present extreme subgrade conditions. Standard engineering response combines StrataTex HSR woven PET 400-800 kN/m basal mat with vertical drains (PVDs) for consolidation. The basal mat handles construction-stage lateral force per Rowe-Soderman analysis; PVDs accelerate long-term consolidation over the design service life. See the geotextile design guide for the analysis framework.
