Sarawak peat deposits (5-15 m thick) and Sabah lowland peat present extreme subgrade conditions. Standard engineering response combines StrataTex HSR woven PET basal mat (typically 400-800 kN/m grade) with vertical drains (PVDs) for consolidation.
