Mukim Bandar Batu 18, Semenyih.
Mukim Bandar Batu 18 in Semenyih (Hulu Langat district, Selangor) is a residential development corridor in the southern Klang Valley. Our group delivered geotechnical and geosynthetic-related scope on platform development in this area, including bulk earthworks, retaining systems, and drainage works typical of Selangor residential platform construction.
Residential platform in southern Klang Valley.
The Semenyih and wider Hulu Langat residential development belt has been a sustained growth corridor in southern Selangor over multiple development cycles. Platform development in the area typically involves earthworks to establish residential plot levels from undulating residual-soil terrain, retaining systems at boundary geometries, and drainage management. Subgrade conditions in the area include residual soil derived from weathered granite and meta-sediment bedrock, with variable depth to refusal.
Geotechnical and retaining works.
- Bulk earthworks and platform formation for residential plot development
- Retaining systems at platform boundaries (MSE wall with geogrid where vertical retention served the platform geometry)
- Drainage works to manage surface runoff under monsoon rainfall
- Erosion-control measures during construction phase
What residential platforms typically need.
Residential platforms in Semenyih typically require careful management of post-construction settlement (to avoid downstream damage to subsequent house foundations), drainage management to handle runoff onto adjacent plots, and retaining geometry to maximise developable area within boundary constraints. Geosynthetic-based MSE wall systems at modest heights (typically 2-6 m) are common and cost-effective compared to reinforced-concrete cantilever walls.
